What really made a difference was how she treated me not just as a patient, but as a person.
I received a CT that showed a suspicious lump in my right breast and the radiologist recommended a stat mammogram. It was a scary, unknown situation. I saw the result in my portal, and I decided to send a portal message to my PCP to order stat imaging as recommended, in less than 10 minutes. Sarah Miller, RN, responded, and she told me that Dr. Wu was on vacation, but she will contact her and get back to me. It was a half-day work, which made it hard. Sarah told me that she will do that the first thing in the morning when she gets back to the office.
On 12/26/24, all the orders were placed, and I got imaging done on 12/27/2024. I cannot express enough how deeply their compassion and professionalism impacted me. One moment in particular stands out: when she called me to let me know that the orders were placed, she could hear in my voice how overwhelmed and scared I was. Nurse Sarah noticed my distress. Instead of rushing through tasks, she took her time and truly listened. What really made a difference was how she treated me not just as a patient, but as a person. That kind of genuine care went beyond clinical duties; it gave me strength and reassurance when I needed it most.
I truly believe that Nurse Sarah was a key part of my diagnosis, which was benign (Thank God), and I am incredibly grateful for the compassion and dedication she showed. Her prompt and compassionate responses made a difficult time much more manageable. It wasn’t just about responding fast; it was how she did it: with warmth, patience, and empathy every single time. That kind of presence made a real difference, and I am so grateful for the way Nurse Sarah cared for me. She is everything a DAISY Nurse should be.
