She made a difference from the very first moment.
I arrived at the hospital for a scheduled cesarean section, overwhelmed by mixed emotions and in a sea of tears. I had waited 40 weeks with the hope of having a natural birth, but things did not turn out as I had dreamed, and it ended up being a cesarean. Along with sadness, I was filled with fear and anxiety. It was my second cesarean, and deep down, I strongly resisted going through the same experience again.

In that very vulnerable emotional state, Tommy appeared, and she was the one who completely changed my mood. From the very first moment, she was incredibly kind, approached the situation with great empathy, started a conversation with me, and made me laugh. At that moment, that was pure gold for me. I remember telling her that she had a very contagious sense of humor and a beautiful energy. When she introduced herself, she even said with a smile, “My name is Tommy… like the candy.” That simple phrase made me smile when I needed it the most.

Thanks to her support, I entered the operating room much calmer than when I arrived at the hospital. And the most beautiful part is that her care did not end there. After the surgery, while I was waking up in recovery, my husband showed me something and said, “Look, they sent this to you.” It was a Tomy candy, and when I saw it half-asleep, exhausted, and in pain I felt a deep sense of relief… and I smiled. Her gesture, so simple and so human, reminded me that I was in good hands. And I truly was.

In addition to her, the entire nursing team was incredible, always attentive, kind, and dedicated. They made me feel cared for and accompanied throughout my entire stay. But without a doubt, Tommy made the difference.

Days later, when I was discharged, she came down to see me personally to say goodbye. That detail deeply touched my heart. I thanked her sincerely because, thanks to her, I confirmed that there are people who truly love what they do. Her dedication, her kindness, and her way of connecting with patients made my experience so much more bearable.

From the beginning, she noticed that I arrived emotionally overwhelmed, sad, and frustrated. She made it her mission to distract me, talk with me, tell me jokes, and lift my spirits. She has a very special and beautiful energy. It was incredible how, by the time I entered the operating room, I was already calm, no longer crying, and no longer afraid. Even afterward, she did such thoughtful things, like finding my husband to give him the candy, thinking of giving me a sweet memory, and making me smile.

During my hospital stay, even though she was no longer assigned to my unit, I was surprised to see that she came to visit me just to talk and check on how I was doing. We spent a good amount of time chatting, and it meant so much to me. My husband even brought her some chocolates as a thank-you, and she recognized him immediately. She remembered him perfectly. That says so much about her vocation: she knows who her patients are, remembers them, and truly cares for them.

I have recommended the hospital to all my friends, largely because of the care I received, but especially because of what Tommy did for me. My gynecologist even told me that her role was key, since I arrived with preeclampsia, and although Tommy did not know it, the way she treated me and helped calm me down greatly contributed to stabilizing me both emotionally and physically. She made a difference from the very first moment.

Thank you for completely changing the way I experienced this moment. I will always be grateful to you.
