I have been at VCU Health for the past two years, and although I am leaving to continue my career elsewhere, I wanted to let you know about my highly positive experience working with Shelley Daniels. She has been the nurse working with me in the Ambulatory Outpatient Pavilion since I began.

Shelley has always been extremely organized, and as a new attending, this was crucial for me as I learned how things worked at a different institution. She has a solid grasp of which of my patients are the most active. She even prompts me ahead of time to put in orders or review portions of the chart. Shelley genuinely goes above and beyond. She doesn’t just address patient concerns, but actively follows up on them. She often anticipates what needs to be done and is very proactive about making sure everything runs smoothy.

She also has excellent manners with patients, and many of them have said amazing things about her. They always comment on how quickly she returns their calls and concerns, as well as her compassion for them during what can undoubtedly be some of the worst moments of their lives. All in all, Shelley has been a complete joy to work with, and I will miss her quite a bit. She has certainly set the bar high. I also wanted to add that I have had a great experience with all the infusion nurses at the Ambulatory Outpatient Pavilion. The nursing team there is fantastic, and I will miss working with them.
