Ebony noticed my quietness, pulled up a chair, and said, “We’re in this together.” She made me laugh, reminded me of my strength, and stayed with me until I felt steady again.
When I walked into the ward for my very first chemotherapy session, I was overwhelmed with fear. I didn’t know what to expect, and my mind was full of worry. But then I met Ebony—and from that moment, everything changed. She greeted me with a warm smile that instantly eased my nerves, and within minutes, she somehow created a space where I felt safe, seen, and supported.
There is something incredibly special about Ebony. She doesn’t just deliver care—she delivers comfort, reassurance, and humanity at a time when patients like me need it most. On days when I felt anxious or unwell, she always seemed to notice before I even said a word. She would sit beside me, speak gently, and offer encouragement that felt sincere and personal. Her words carried me through some of the hardest moments of my treatment.
I remember one day when I felt completely overwhelmed. Ebony noticed my quietness, pulled up a chair, and said, “We’re in this together.” She made me laugh, reminded me of my strength, and stayed with me until I felt steady again. That simple act of kindness transformed what could have been a very difficult day into one filled with comfort and hope. It’s moments like this that stay with you long after the treatment ends.
What makes Ebony extraordinary is not just her clinical skill but her heart. She brings joy into a place where joy can sometimes be hard to find. We laugh together at nearly every visit—I never imagined I would look forward to chemotherapy, yet because of Ebony, I genuinely do. She has given me something priceless: the feeling that I am not facing this journey alone.
Ebony truly embodies “We Care”. She listens deeply, notices the small details, and treats every patient as an individual deserving of compassion and dignity. Her warmth is genuine, and her commitment is unwavering.
She shows what it means to “Value People”. She respects every patient’s fears and feelings, making sure we feel understood. She also uplifts her colleagues—always offering help, encouraging words, or a calming presence during busy, stressful moments on the ward. You can see how much her team admires and trusts her.
And she is the perfect example of “We Are One Team.” Ebony creates an environment where patients and staff feel connected, supported, and united. She contributes to a ward atmosphere that is calm, positive, and full of kindness—something I know many other patients appreciate as deeply as I do.
Ebony doesn’t just do her job; she changes experiences, emotions, and lives. She has been a light in one of the darkest chapters of my life, and I will always be grateful for her care, her compassion, and the laughter she brings to each visit.
