During a stressful time in the ICU, RN Marie Salonge was a shining star and beacon of hope. She provided excellent care to my son, with kindness and compassion that exceeded all expectations. She took the time out of her super busy day to learn about his interests and treated him as a unique individual, not just a disabled patient. Her singing along with his music brought him immense joy and put a smile on his face that lingered long after her shift was over. As a parent of an adult child with special needs, it's heartwarming to encounter someone who genuinely cares about his well-being, and I am deeply thankful for Ms. Marie's care and kindness. If R could express himself, I'm certain he would thank her for also brightening his day! As a full-time caregiver and mother thoroughly involved in his care, it was lovely to be treated as a valued member of his team rather than an uninvited guest in the room. In conclusion, it's truly refreshing to experience a stress-free day with a very skilled multi-tasking professional nurse. It was sad to see her shift end.
