The mother who nominated this nurse spoke of her child coming to the ER after experiencing a febrile seizure at home. She recalls the amount of time and dedication her nurse spent with her, explaining and answering questions. And when her child had another seizure during her ER stay, this nurse was the first to respond and stayed with the family during the stressful and terrifying moments. She explained all the details during the moments of distress and continued to reassure them throughout their hospital stay. She even explained the next steps for the child’s plan of care that would be transferring them to Fairfax for a pediatric neurology consult and follow-up.
