Her thoughtful act made a profound impact and will be remembered by the family forever.
I would like to recognize Andrea for going above and beyond in providing compassionate, patient-centered care during one of the most sensitive and emotional moments a family can experience. On a Saturday, during the final hours of her patient's life, Andrea took it upon herself to help the family create a legacy fingerprint project – a meaningful and personal keepsake typically facilitated by the palliative care nurse clinician during weekday hours.
Understanding the deep importance of preserving a memory for the family, Andrea didn't let the absence of weekday support stop her. She learned the process on the fly, demonstrating both initiative and heartfelt commitment to honoring her patient's life. Her actions provided comfort, healing, and a tangible legacy for the family to hold onto after their loss.
Andrea's compassion, resourcefulness, and willingness to step outside her typical role exemplify the highest standards of care. Her thoughtful act made a profound impact and will be remembered by the family forever. She truly deserves to be recognized for her dedication to her patients and families.
