Erin in the float pool cared for me in the emergency room. This nurse exemplifies what it means to be an extraordinary care provider. She fiercely advocated for me when the lab lost my blood. She advocated for me upon discharge to ensure it was safe to go home. Erin used humor and compassion to effectively calm me down and make me feel safe. Most of all, though she was at the bedside when I was short of breath and walked me through it, she acted quickly and with purpose and integrity. To not honor her with a DAISY would be, simply put, a crime. In a world where nurses are being scrutinized and forced out of the profession for a multitude of reasons, nurses like Erin need to be celebrated. They need to be cheered and told how amazing they are. There is no other nurse in that emergency room who is more well-rounded, compassionate, and kind. Multiple nurses could be heard throughout my stay coming to Erin for advice and assistance with their own patients. Erin is a true leader in this healthcare environment and needs to be recognized for all her hard work. She also has some serious telemetry skills. Thank you, Erin, for everything you did. You will never know how much it means.
