Cinthya made a lasting impact on me. She showed genuine compassion, kindness, and a sincere interest in my well-being, not only as a patient but as a person with goals outside of the hospital.
In March, I was hospitalized with sepsis after becoming extremely ill and experiencing significant pain. During this frightening and overwhelming time, Cinthya consistently went above and beyond in the care she provided. She was always checking on me, asking if I needed anything, whether it was extra blankets, reassurance, or simply her presence.
Her attentiveness and calm demeanor brought me comfort during a very vulnerable period. As we talked more, I shared how stressed I was about missing an exam due to my hospitalization. When Cinthya learned that I am a nursing student, especially that I attend the same school she graduated from just a few years ago, she took an incredible interest in supporting me both as a patient and as a student.
She asked me questions about what I was learning, helped me talk through the content I would be missing, and explained every medication she administered so that I could better understand and learn from it. She even went as far as sharing her old notes and NCLEX study guides to encourage me and support my future as a nurse.
Cinthya made a lasting impact on me. She showed genuine compassion, kindness, and a sincere interest in my well-being, not only as a patient but as a person with goals outside of the hospital. She is the kind of nurse I aspire to be: caring, supportive, and deeply invested in her patients. Out of all the nurses who cared for me during my hospitalization, Cinthya truly stood out, and I will never forget the comfort, guidance, and encouragement she gave me during such a difficult time.
