My grandmother had a CABG procedure, and I was absolutely terrified of her recovery. I spent every night in the SICU with her, so I was extremely exhausted and looking for hope in any way, shape, or form. Connor was her daytime nurse and went above and beyond with her care. To start, Connor walked in with a smile that lit up the entire room. He took the time to get to know my family, our background, and even shared about his background and upbringing as well. He immediately brought light, life, and humor into the room. With every step he took in my grandmother’s care, he explained very clearly to her and me what was going on, what his reasons were for doing it, and his intended outcome of each action. He monitored her closely, and I knew that I could trust him wholeheartedly.

He was so kind to her, and she even said he felt like one of her grandchildren! He was gentle in helping her in and out of bed and consistently took initiative while caring for her. He uplifted our entire family with positive energy! His collaborative effort with team members was inspiring. He is truly someone who knows how to lead but also knows how to follow and support. Which, in my opinion, is equally important. Connor is intuitively knowledgeable and informative. He was able to monitor her vitals for trends, anticipate her needs, and execute care in an efficient way. He translates his expertise in this field in a way that is easily digestible for patients and their loved ones. Connor is an amazing nurse with a very bright future ahead of him. It was an honor to get to know him.
