Alese's support in that moment helped me navigate through a challenging experience, and her calm demeanor and willingness to guide me served as a beacon of strength when I felt at my lowest.
When I was a student nurse, along with Alese on the ED-OBs unit, there was a time when we had to pass medications on our own. During this time, I was overwhelmed with the responsibility and accidentally dropped a pill. I looked at Alese for help, and she immediately assessed the situation, reported to the RN, and followed protocol. This story might sound small to others, but for me, during that time, I felt lost and at the lowest I have ever been.
The pressure of being a student nurse is something that often gets overlooked. We're juggling so muchlearning on the fly, dealing with real-life situations, and trying to stay composed. Dropping a pill, though it might seem minor, is a big deal when you're learning the ropes and feel like youre carrying so much responsibility. She was a great support in that moment, knowing exactly what to do and handling it calmly. It's easy to forget how important that support can be when you're starting out. Her swift response not only ensured patient safety but also reminded me of the importance of teamwork and following protocol.

She is the kind of nurse who lifts others up, and her unwavering dedication to both her patients and her colleagues makes her truly deserving of recognition. She's remained kind-hearted, fun, motherly, and full of quirky advice. Throughout all the peaks and troughs within our cohort, shes remained professional and strong.
