During pediatric sedation days, she has a special way of making what could be a very scary experience feel calm, safe, and even comforting for both the children and their parents. From the moment a patient arrives, she greets them with a warm smile and a gentle voice that immediately puts everyone at ease. She takes the time to kneel down to the child’s level, explain what’s going to happen in a way they can understand, and often distracts them with small talk, jokes, or even letting them hold her hand. You can visibly see their anxiety melt away as she builds trust and makes them feel safe.

One particular day stood out when a little boy came in for an MRI sedation. He was terrified and clinging to his mom, crying uncontrollably. She sat beside him, spoke softly, and even started singing a children’s song to distract him. She made him laugh through his tears and helped his mom calm down, too, by reassuring her that she would stay right by his side the entire time. By the time the sedation started, both the child and his mother were visibly more relaxed. Her compassion doesn’t stop with patients and families. This nurse is just as kind and dependable with her coworkers.

No matter how busy or stressful the day gets, she’s always one of the first to jump in and help. Whether it’s assisting with another patient, cleaning up the nurses' station, or supporting someone who’s overwhelmed, she’s always there with a smile and a helping hand.
