Adeline went above and beyond for her primary patient while walking parents through bereavement. She picked up extra shifts to care for her patient and their family, made memory crafts, hand and foot molds, and an audio recording of the patient’s heartbeat for the parents. She organized trips to the family garden, advocated for her patient's comfort throughout the deceleration process, and facilitated therapeutic communication between the patient’s family, nursing staff, and the neonatology team. Throughout a horrific diagnosis and decision to withdraw care on their infant, Adeline supported the family for nine shifts straight to ensure continuity of care.
