We will never forget the compassion that Jonathan shared with her and our family.
Our mother was a patient under the care of her primary nurse, Jonathan. Our mother went to the ER because she was having dizziness, confusion, trouble holding things in her right hand, a low heart rate, and high blood pressure.

She was already being treated for a UTI before coming to the ER, and we originally thought her UTI was worsening along with complications with her blood pressure medication. Our life was turned upside down when we received the news of a brain tumor. We never thought a simple trip to the ER would lead to this. It was a very scary feeling for all of us. However, her nurse, Jonathan, displayed incredible grace, kindness, and empathy towards our mother and family.

He kept us informed of every step of our mother’s medical care plan and even checked in on us after his shift ended. He went above and beyond in our mother’s care and consoled our family during this devastating event. Our mother transitioned to hospice and was able to live out her final months on our family farm. She reflected on countless memories in her life.

She shared with us that upon receiving the news of a brain tumor, she did not feel sorry for herself or express anger. Instead, she expressed genuine gratitude and appreciation for the staff at MedStar St. Mary’s, especially Jonathan. We will never forget the compassion that Jonathan shared with her and our family. We will forever be thankful for his care.
