بعد إجرائي لقسطرة القلب، تم نقلي إلى قسم العناية المتوسطة كانت حالتي في ذلك الوقت صعبة للغاية، لدرجة أنني لم أكن أستطيع الحركة بمفردي إلا بمساعدة فريق التمريض. في تلك اللحظات الحرجة، كان الممرض يزيد أول من استجاب لندائي عندما ضغطت على جرس المساعدة.

منذ اللحظة الأولى لدخوله غرفتي، تعامل معي وكأني أحد إخوانه أو من أفراد عائلته. ابتساماته الدائمة ولطف أسلوبه كانا يخففان من رهبة المرض والشعور بالغربة داخل المستشفى. خلال فترات عمله لم أشعر قط أنني مريض بعيد عن أهلي، بل شعرت أنه قريب مني بروحه الإيجابية وطريقته الداعمة.

الأجمل من ذلك أنه لم يكن ينتظر مني دائمًا أن أطلب المساعدة؛ فقد كان يدخل أحيانًا إلى الغرفة فقط للاطمئنان على حالتي والتأكد أنني بخير، وهذا الأمر كان يمنحني شعورًا بالراحة والطمأنينة. حتى عندما كنت أكرر طلب المساعدة مراراً، لم أشعر منه بأي انزعاج أو ملامة، بل على العكس كان دائمًا حاضرًا بابتسامة، يقدم العون وكأنه يقوم بواجبه تجاه شخص عزيز عليه.

بعد نقلي إلى قسم آخر (قسم القلب-رجال)، لم ينقطع حرصه، بل عرض علي أن أطلبهم باستدعائه شخصيًا إن لم أشعر بالراحة أو واجهت أي ملاحظة مع التمريض هناك، مؤكداً أنه سيأتي بنفسه لمساعدتي.

ورغم أن معظم الممرضين كانوا جيدين في تعاملهم، إلا أن يزيد تميّز بشيء مختلف تمامًا؛ كان مثالًا في الاحترافية، والإنسانية، والروح الإيجابية. حتى بعد خروجي من المستشفى وعودتي للعمل، كان هو الممرض الوحيد الذي رغبت أن أزوره وأسلم عليه تعبيرًا عن امتناني، لأنه ترك بصمة صادقة في نفسي وقدم صورة مشرّفة عن قسم التمريض وعن جميع موظفي مستشفى القاسمي.

إن ما قام به الممرض يزيد يتجاوز حدود الواجب المهني، ويستحق أن يكون قدوة لغيره من الكوادر، وأن يُكرَّم من الإدارة كأحد النماذج المشرقة في خدمة المرضى.

English Translation:

Following my cardiac catheterization, I was transferred to the Intermediate Care Unit. My condition at the time was extremely critical—so much so that I was unable to move on my own without the assistance of the nursing staff. During those critical moments, Nurse Yazid was the very first to respond when I pressed the call bell.

From the very moment he first entered my room, he treated me as if I were one of his own brothers or a member of his family. His perpetual smiles and gentle demeanor helped alleviate the dread of illness and the sense of alienation one feels within a hospital setting. Throughout his shifts, I never once felt like a sick patient isolated from my loved ones; rather, I felt a profound closeness to him—drawn in by his positive spirit and supportive manner.

What was even more wonderful was that he did not always wait for me to ask for help; sometimes, he would simply step into the room just to check on me and ensure that I was doing well—something that filled me with a deep sense of comfort and reassurance. Even when I repeatedly asked for assistance, I never sensed any annoyance or reproach from him; on the contrary, he was always there with a smile, offering his aid as if he were fulfilling a duty toward someone dear to his heart.

After I was transferred to another ward—the Men's Cardiology Ward—his attentiveness did not cease; in fact, he offered to have me summon him personally should I feel uncomfortable or encounter any issues with the nursing staff there, assuring me that he would come in person to assist me.

Although most of the nurses were excellent in their conduct, Yazid distinguished himself in a way that was entirely unique; he was a paragon of professionalism, humanity, and positive spirit. Even after my discharge from the hospital and my return to work, he was the only nurse I felt compelled to visit and greet personally as an expression of my gratitude—for he left a genuine imprint on my soul and presented a truly honorable image of the nursing department and the entire staff of Al Qassimi Hospital.

The actions taken by Nurse Yazid go above and beyond the call of professional duty; he deserves to serve as a role model for other staff members and to be honored by the administration as a shining example of dedication to patient care.
