She shapes the culture of our team and elevates the standard of care within our organization.
I have worked on 3 North for 5 years as a CNA and RN. Ann Marie has always gone above and beyond for her staff. She supports us with any tasks we need help with and lifts us emotionally with her kind words and gentleness. She is the epitome of what an amazing and hardworking boss is, and I’m so sad to see her leave us. She is the top star of our 3 North Tree, and it will be hard to find another to replace her.

It is with sadness that I am nominating Ann Marie on her way to retirement. It is an honor that is well past due. Ann Marie’s leadership creates a culture of safety, teamwork, respect, and pride. Her high expectations for patient care pushed us to all try our best. She was never too busy to stop and answer call bells, help patients with their needs.

It is an honor to nominate Ann Marie for the DAISY Leader award. For the past five years, I have had the privilege of working under her leadership and experience that truly shaped me both professionally and personally. She leads by example and has a deep dedication to the patients, the staff, and families alike. Over the years, she has guided me with kindness and encouraged my growth with patience and honesty. Her belief in me has strengthened my confidence as a nurse. Ann Marie’s impact is felt far beyond the day-to-day workload. She shapes the culture of our team and elevates the standard of care within our organization.

St. Charles is a better place because of her, and I am a better nurse because of her. She will be missed by all of us.
Having worked for Ann Marie for many years has been an honor, and I’ve been lucky enough to be the recipient of her leadership, kindness, and compassion! Her true caring and dedication to staff, patients, and families sets her apart from other leaders; she “walks the walk” and never just “talks the talk”. She has held fast to her standards and values, and in a world where so much seems compromised, she always stands firm and fair. That is what makes her an amazing leader.

With Ann Marie as my Director for 4 years, there are MANY positive things I can share about her leadership skills and support for a new leader. The thing that I will always give her credit for is that I have never seen a leader be so supportive of her leadership staff in multiple ways. Anytime I would bring an idea or potential improvement, she was there to help talk through it, offer her opinion, and give me the push to implement it. This helped make my job so much more enriching and fulfilling (not to mention the positive impact it had on the unit). For that, I am forever grateful. The other way that she always supported me was by seeking opportunities to get me in the spotlight. Whether it was a corporate initiative that she thought I would do well with or something within the hospital, she always made sure to be my biggest cheerleader, making me feel empowered and confident in my own capability as a leader. I cannot thank Ann Marie enough for this support because it really set my career path on the trajectory that has led me to become a director myself! I don’t even think I would have gone to school for my MSN without Ann Marie’s support along the way. I cannot think of a leader more deserving of the nurse leader DAISY Award than Ann Marie Miller.
