I would like to nominate Tracey, a midwife in the maternity department at Luton Hospital, for the DAISY Award. She was absolutely incredible during my labour and made a lasting impression on my family and me. From the moment Tracey walked into the room, she radiated calm, confidence, and expertise. It was clear she had a wealth of experience, and she knew exactly what to say to reassure me when I felt nervous or anxious. Her presence immediately made me feel safe, calm, and relaxed. One moment that particularly stood out was during the pushing stage, when we were struggling to make progress. Tracey used her technical expertise to guide me into a different position — something that made all the difference in helping our baby arrive safely. Throughout the entire process, she kept my partner and me fully informed, explaining everything clearly so that we never felt left in the dark. What truly set her apart was the way she communicated — she ensured we understood every step, which brought a huge sense of reassurance during a very intense and emotional time. I am so deeply grateful to Tracey for her support, professionalism, and compassion. Thanks to her, I felt in control and fully supported throughout my birth experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any expectant mother — she turned what could have been a very overwhelming experience into one that felt calm, safe, and empowering.
