Jeff and Mary were on their lunch break, sitting together in the cafeteria. Mary observed a gentleman sitting on the bench just outside the hospital entrance doors who appeared to be in distress. After making a quick decision to drop their lunch and go check on the man, they found him in distress and in need of assistance. They determined that the man had no one with him and was visiting a family member. Jeff and Mary quickly assisted the man into a wheelchair and raced him to the ER. Shortly after the man arrived at the ER, he decompensated and became a medical emergency. Without Jeff and Mary's quick assessment and action, this man could have been in a very bad position, sitting alone on the bench. Both Jeff and Mary exemplify what a true Phoenixville Hospital nurse is. They went above and beyond their daily duties to assist a man in need. I am proud to work alongside these two nurses!
