We received a new patient on the unit. He was very disheveled and needed true TLC. Melissa agreed with no doubt in her mind. When I say Melissa pampered him, she gave him celebrity status pampering. Melissa got the patient to the shower, washed and conditioned his hair, thoroughly cleaned his nails with a toothbrush, brushed his teeth, and placed him in a nice new gown and socks.

That is not even the best part. The patient had a necklace that was tarnished, had green grime, and lots of dirt that he did not want to get rid of. This necklace even turned his neck green, but she managed to scrub it off. Melissa took the necklace and placed it in hot water with Palmolive dish soap and scrubbed it for over an hour with several toothbrushes until it was clean. The patient felt so good and appreciated everything Melissa had done. He told me Melissa gave him 5 Star care.
