Lea reminded me how powerful empathy can be in healing.
During my recent stay at Maple Grove Hospital, I had the privilege of being cared for by Lea. From the moment she walked into my room, she treated me not as a 90-year-old patient with complicated health issues, but as a person with dignity, humor, and compassion.
Lea made me feel comfortable in situations that could have been embarrassing or discouraging. She took the time to explain things clearly, encouraged me when I was struggling, and always managed to make me smile. What stood out most was her combination of professionalism and genuine kindness. She was attentive to every detail of my care, but she also went beyond the medical side, making sure I felt seen, respected, and human. In a world where hospital stays can feel impersonal, Lea reminded me how powerful empathy can be in healing. I am deeply grateful for her dedication and warmth, and I believe she represents the very best of what nursing should be.
