The Nursing Quality Team, crewed by Sabat, Eleanor, and Jean, exemplifies excellence, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and nursing practice. Through their dedication and shared vision, they have consistently transformed challenges into meaningful improvements that directly enhance patient outcomes and staff performance. Their work reflects not only technical expertise but also a deep sense of responsibility to uphold the highest standards of care.

The team has led and successfully implemented multiple high-impact quality initiatives and improvement projects, including the strengthening of patient safety indicators, improvement of documentation accuracy, enhancement of infection prevention practices, improvement of patient and nurse satisfaction, and optimization of nursing workflows.

The Nursing Quality Team’s evidence-based approach, meticulous monitoring of quality metrics, and continuous audit-and-feedback cycles have resulted in measurable improvements across clinical units. Each project is driven by collaboration, innovation, and a clear focus on sustainability, ensuring that improvements are not only achieved but maintained over time.

Beyond outcomes and data, the Nursing Quality Team has cultivated a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. They serve as mentors, advocates, and role models, empowering nurses to take ownership of quality and safety in their daily practice. Their passion, perseverance, and teamwork have left a lasting impact on both patients and staff.

Sabat, Eleanor, and Jean are exceptional, quality-driven nurses. Their commitment and expertise were instrumental in SGH Jeddah’s success in achieving the ANCC Magnet Designation with Distinction, the first and only institution outside the United States to achieve this honor. Of the ten exemplars assessed, eight (EP3EO, EP12EO, EP20EOa, EP20EOb, EP20EOc, EP21EOa, EP21EOc, EP21EOd, EP21EOg) were directly monitored and guided by their team.

Their team also developed leaders at the clinical nursing level by shaping the Nursing Shared Governance Clinical and Quality Council. Their other distinguished accomplishments include successfully enculturating the Just Culture and NDNQI to the nurses through campaigns and on-spot coaching; providing education and guidance on nurse-sensitive indicators dashboard interpretation; revising and creating policies through the latest evidence-based practices; point prevalence rounds; nurse-led innovations such as the creation of ear pillows, positioning pillows, and Dignishield to prevent pressure injuries; facilitation of unit improvement projects using the FOCUS-PDCA method; and nursing quality campaigns and CQC Fairs.

Their ongoing dedication to quality, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to nursing excellence have been key to the hospital’s many successes. It is with deep appreciation that all their accomplishments highlight the significant impact of their leadership, which has elevated nursing standards. Their team has inspired the entire SGH nursing community.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions and the lasting legacy they have created, the Nursing Quality Team is truly deserving of DAISY recognition for their collective leadership, transformative contributions, and profound influence on the quality of nursing care.
