I was deeply moved by Angelli’s selfless dedication to the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of this patient, even when he was no longer an Ascension patient.
Angelli is such a light and blessing to 5 Kidd and her patients. She was taking care of a patient who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. He was in and out of the hospital with various issues related to his diagnosis. On his most recent admission, it was noted that he and Angelli were from the same place, so she could perfectly communicate with him, as Spanish was his primary language. She was able to translate and explain things to him and his sister, which helped them fully understand his diagnosis and complications.

She also discovered that the patient was here with only his sister. The rest of their family was in another country. She offered to translate for the sister and patient during hospital rounds so that they felt more involved and aware of the plan of care.

Towards the end of his life, she was able to connect the patient with a pastor who helped the patient give his life to Christ before he eventually passed away. She helped the sister in the transition from hospital care to a hospice facility. Angelli said that she served her purpose.

I was deeply moved by Angelli’s selfless dedication to the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of this patient, even when he was no longer an Ascension patient. She always had a positive word for the family and patient. Angelli was a source of support for the patient's sister and provided her with a sense of community to lean upon. Angelli was deeply affected by the patient's passing but stated she wouldn't change a thing about the experience and that she felt honored to have played a part. I think she was every bit of an angel for that patient and family.
