After we moved to Peds, she even came on her day off to decorate our daughter's room to make us feel more at home, including fake plants, snacks, and fairy lights!
Our daughter was born with cancer undetected in utero and stayed in the NICU for about a week before being transferred to the Peds floor to begin her chemo treatment. While in the NICU, Miranda was one of the first nurses our daughter had, and she ended up falling in love with her and requested that she be her primary nurse. Ever since, she's become a prominent part of our lives and demonstrated her care and commitment to our daughter and family time and time again. When we received the devastating news that our daughter had cancer after a biopsy, Miranda came to visit us outside the NICU, gave us each a huge hug, and even shared a few tears with us. She made a cute little sign for how our daughter needed to be propped up for other nurses to follow. She made sure that if she wasn't working, the other nurses knew all the details and ins and outs of our daughter's unique needs. She even picked up a couple of shifts to tend to her.

She took us down to the pediatric floor and gave us a little tour prior to transfer to make it less scary. After we moved to Peds, she even came on her day off to decorate our daughter's room to make us feel more at home, including fake plants, snacks, and fairy lights! She has given us care packages, offered emotional support and a listening ear, acted as an advocate and asked the oncologists guiding questions, and so so so much more. We can never repay her for how incredible she has been throughout this entire process, and if anyone deserves this award to demonstrate care and commitment to her patients, it is her. She has made this terrible situation so much better and has continuously gone above and beyond what is required of her. Not only that, but she is a mother and is working toward her Master's Degree at the same time! There is no better representation of providing remarkable care. We love Miranda and wish her all the best!
