The TACS team had a patient undergo surgery that required an ostomy, which subsequently turned into a complex wound. Terri spent hours building rapport with the patient, providing encouragement and re-educating staff and the patient. After 86 days of excellent wound care by Terri and trial and error, the patient was able to discharge safely.

Terri went above and beyond, staying late, coming in early, and offering new ideas on how to best care for the patient's complex wound. I encountered Terri often de-escalating the patient's frustrations and anxiety. With Terri's healing touch, compassion, and excellent care, the patient was ultimately discharged closer to family.
