Makayla was absolutely incredible. It all started 2 years ago when I gave birth to my daughter. I was a nervous wreck and was going in for a C-section after a very traumatic pregnancy. Makayla ended up being my nurse and my advocate, walking me through the whole process without minimizing my fears, and truly was an angel.

She even checked in when it wasn’t her shift before we left the hospital. When we got to the hospital on Monday for our son’s delivery, I told my husband how incredible it would be to have Makayla again, and sure enough, she was the nurse who walked in to prep me back for my C-section. The amount of stress I felt directly left my body, and I just knew I would be in the very best hands.

Having a C-section is vulnerable, scary, and a difficult recovery. She advocated for my safety, my comfort, and my recovery. She went beyond her traditional nurse duties and truly, truly made me, my husband, and our son her top priority and was always so informative, responsive, and on top of everything. Makayla has the sweetest bedside manner and respects her patients with so much kindness and knowledge.

I truly don’t know a nurse more deserving than her! So incredibly thankful for being able to have her as my care nurse for both C-sections! If we were to have a third, I could only pray we would get lucky enough to have Makayla as our nurse again. I truly believe she’s what made the difference in my postpartum recovery, both physically and mentally. She was so compassionate when my anxiety spiraled and made sure that it was fully addressed and assessed.
