hat stood out most was how genuinely she cared. She listened, not just to symptoms, but to how I was feeling as a person.
During my hospital stay, I was cared for by Namitha, who was my first nurse on Wheeler 5 to welcome me to the unit. It was a long day in the emergency room; it was so busy that I was in the hallway most of the time. Once got up to Wheeler 5 it has been a long time where I met a nurse who truly embodied what compassionate nursing looks like.

From the very beginning, she made a stressful and overwhelming experience feel manageable and safe. She consistently took the time to explain what was happening, what to expect next, and why certain things were being done; never rushing, never making me feel like a burden. Even during her busiest moments, she checked in on me, noticed small changes, and addressed concerns before I even had to ask.

Her calm presence alone brought comfort during moments when fear and uncertainty could have easily taken over. What stood out most was how genuinely she cared. She listened, not just to symptoms, but to how I was feeling as a person. She advocated for me, ensured my comfort, and went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported, respected, and heard.

Her kindness wasn't just part of her job; it was clearly part of who she is. I was hoping to see her one more time before I left, and I did. She helped me change rooms as the ED was filling up again. She made a lasting impact on my healing and reminded me how powerful and compassionate nursing truly is. I am incredibly thankful for the care she provided.
