My wife arrived in the ICU on life support. Ms. Loudon, RN, was assigned as her nurse on the second day and immediately embraced my wife with compassion and care, offering me a ray of hope for her recovery.
I watched her during her briefings and debriefings articulate with clarity to other hospital physicians and staff her shift notes. Her confidence during her presentation eased my tension and left me feeling that my wife was receiving genuine and heartfelt medical care. RN Loudon immediately put her notes into the hospital network so that other healthcare providers could follow up on my wife's progress in real time.
If an alarm sounded, there was no hesitation or delay in her response to it. After removal from the respirator, she spoke slowly and clearly with care and compassion to my wife, helping her adjust to the trauma she had just been exposed to. She knows her trade and embraces it. She can articulate at an educator level while humbly presenting her observations so all can understand.
Our granddaughter recently graduated from nursing school, and RN Loudon was the example that I asked her to emulate. Her attention to detail absolutely helped save my wife’s life. Although Providence has first-class staff, she rose above the others and is an example to follow.
