Lorena radiates positivity through simple acts of kindness that mean so much. She recently decorated one of our long-term patients' rooms with fall decorations, bringing warmth and joy to someone without family support. For another patient, she arranged for her husband to come in to give a bedside haircut, restoring dignity and comfort for the family, who remembered him that way. Both patients are nonverbal and bedridden, yet Lorena’s compassion spoke volumes. She did all of this quietly, without seeking recognition, just from the heart. Day to day, I see Lorena giving care for each of her patients equally, with patience, kindness, and a genuine love for what she does. She truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award.
