Nurse Miller brings her experiences and wisdom to the floor for all her patients and staff, leading by example to make healthcare and human care a top priority for herself and her unit.
Heather provided the best level of care that I have ever seen from a nurse. She was very knowledgeable, kind, patient, and warm. She answered every question we asked and helped us understand a complex medical diagnosis.

Heather was exceptional in every way. My dad was not well, and we were very scared and worried about him. She made us all feel comfortable. She was calm in her nature. She especially made my dad feel safe and cared for.

She actually saved his life. He was having an episode where he almost could have died, had a seizure or stroke, and she was right on top of the symptoms he was having and called backup to come in and make sure he was stable. She kept me, my mom, and my brother updated on everything she was doing and explained in detail all his results with us.

She is a badass, and I say that in the most complimentary way possible. Any patient and family would be so lucky to have Heather as their nurse. She defines and is an example of what a caring, loving, experienced, patient nurse should be like. We were so fortunate to have her as my dad’s nurse. We are thrilled he's moving to a regular room and out of the ICU, but we wish we could take Heather with us. She deserves a huge round of applause for such an amazing job caring for her patient and their family (me!)

Heather is a gem! My dad had to have a trach and peg feeding tube installed, and Heather was so kind and patient. As usual, I had a million and one questions, and Heather was so kind to answer every one of them with such care.

Even while doing her assessment, she would explain what she was doing. She could tell I was feeling anxious about what was happening, and she was kind enough to reassure me about everything. I want to thank her for her excellent care and for explaining all his medications. That made my mind settle.

Blessings to you, Heather, for being professional and kind. You are wonderful.

My 76-year-old husband was taken by ambulance to Shady Grove Hospital. He is diabetic, and his sugar level was dangerously low. I was scared about what kind of care he would receive.

We met his nurse, Heather, who was so sweet and reassuring. She calmed us down, including my husband. He received such wonderful care from Heather. I left knowing he was in wonderful hands with the best of the best. No one wants to get sick, but rest assured that if this is his/her nurse, the best care and emotional support will be given by Heather Miller.

Throughout the day, Nurse Miller assisted my mother. Nurse Miller was very compassionate to our situation, with both my mother and father being assigned to the ICU unit for separate medical care. Every round made with other care professionals, Nurse Miller would make herself available to answer questions with treatment options, check on my mother’s wellbeing, and generally make herself available for whatever was needed or just to hear us out.

She brings a passion to the field that is exemplary, nursing in and of itself is a tiresome industry that does require a unique brand of individual. Nurse Miller showed her uniqueness through her caring nature and her ability to explain procedures and issues my mother was experiencing during her stay in a manner that was easy to understand and cope with.

I appreciated her personable anecdotes and easy demeanor, making a stressful time less stressful for myself and my mother. Nurse Miller brings her experiences and wisdom to the floor for all her patients and staff, leading by example to make healthcare and human care a top priority for herself and her unit.

Nurse Miller was able to calm my mother’s nerves as she transitioned out of the ICU to another step-down unit later in her shift and even went with us to the new location to ensure a complete and proper turnover of care was done before she returned to her floor.

While all nurses and staff are more than deserving of a myriad of awards and accolades. She is the true embodiment of what a nurse is. I am thankful for her time with my mother and her knowledge. She is a true asset to the hospital.
