You have a special gift, one that cannot be taught. It is felt. And we feel it deeply. Seth, you will always hold a very special place in my heart and my children’s hearts. Thank you for going above and beyond, for loving what you do, and for being exactly who you are.
I want to take a moment to speak straight form me heart. While we were blessed with an incredible team of nurses and doctors at Hamot, there is one nurse who left a mark on our lives that will never be forgotten.

Seth, you were truly heaven-sent. In one of the most difficult and heartbreaking moments our family has ever faced, you became a source of comfort, peace, and strength. From the very beginning, you made me feel at home, never like a burden, never in the way. Your compassion, patience, and genuine kindness went far beyond your role as a nurse.

You were my husband's biggest supporter, always calm, always understanding, always encouraging. You never made him feel like he was too much. You stood by him with such grace and patience, and that meant more to us than words could ever express. You answered every question, eased every fear, and showed our children what true care and humanity look like.

And even through his death, you were there with us, until the very end. You didn’t rush us. You didn’t disappear. You stood beside us with tears in your eyes, offering heartfelt condolences and quiet support during the most painful goodbye of our lives. That moment alone showed the depth of your heart and the kind of nurse that you truly are.

You have a special gift, one that cannot be taught. It is felt. And we feel it deeply. Seth, you will always hold a very special place in my heart and my children’s hearts. Thank you for going above and beyond, for loving what you do, and for being exactly who you are.

If I’m ever back at the hospital, I will come find you, or if I’m a patient, I will be requesting you without hesitation. I truly believe God placed you in our lives at the exact moment we needed you.

“And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the lord, and not unto men;” Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts.

Seth was the first nurse we spoke to about our mom when she came to UPMC Hamot. He went above and beyond in his care, as well as in fully explaining what had been going on with our mom. This was imperative as the previous hospital did not tell us much (something very difficult with my brother and I living out of state.)

I also found out from my niece that Seth was her father-in-law’s nurse when he coded (and eventually passed). Seth sent a windchime to the funeral for the family—truly going above and beyond.

Highly informative, knowledgeable, compassionate, very professional, and very caring. Seth seems to work well with the medical team and communicates well with the family members. This has been a difficult time but Seth has been reassuring but at the same time realistic.

Thank you so much, Seth!
