She gave me space to be involved, to understand, and to say goodbye with peace.
When my extremely ill mother was transferred to the ICU, NhuNhu was our first day-shift nurse—and she immediately made an unforgettable difference. My mother had already been hospitalized for weeks, and I had grown accustomed to needing to advocate strongly for her comfort and dignity. But the moment NhuNhu entered the room, I realized this experience would be different.

Instead of jumping straight into tasks, she asked thoughtful questions: Who was my mom as a person? What helped her feel comfortable? What did we need from her as our nurse? Her genuine curiosity and respect were remarkable. It was clear that she valued our input, saw my mother as an individual, and wanted to ensure that we had as much voice and agency as possible in an overwhelming and uncertain situation. I will never forget her saying, with warmth and sincerity, “What do you need from me? How can I help?”

NhuNhu was also with us when my mother passed away. In those heartbreaking moments, she guided me through every step with clarity, compassion, and calm. She gave me space to be involved, to understand, and to say goodbye with peace. I cannot imagine a more caring presence in such a painful time.

A close friend of mine—a physician with over 40 years of experience—was with us during this ordeal. Even she said that NhuNhu was one of the best nurses she had ever seen, moved by her empathy, professionalism, and extraordinary ability to truly listen and connect.

I am profoundly grateful for NhuNhu. Her compassion, skill, and humanity transformed one of the hardest experiences of my life into one marked by dignity, respect, and care.
