I am confident Funmi’s words and compassionate care changed the trajectory of my mother’s recovery.
Funmi was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and really showed compassion to not only my dad (the patient) but also to me. She explained everything she was doing so that we could understand. Funmi was so attentive to us, even though she was pulled in 100 different directions. She should be recognized for her hard work and dedication. She is amazing! Thank you.

Funmi was my mother’s nurse during her recent stay at your facility. Funmi was a phenomenal caregiver and anticipated my mother’s needs before we even understood what was happening. She partnered with me by listening to my concerns and my mother’s history, and took that information and acted on it in conjunction with the attending physician. My mother never went without care and comfort under Funmi’s watch.
However, most notable was Funmi’s interaction with my mother during a moment when she wanted to give up. My mom expressed to us all how she wanted to “just go home and die”. Funmi listened with compassion, holding mom’s hand and giving her full attention. When my mother finished verbalizing her frustration, Funmi kindly asked permission to speak. What followed was the most beautiful speech, full of encouragement, noting my mother’s improvement, all she had to live for, and how lucky she was to be surrounded by people who care.
She told my mother, “Please let us keep helping you. I’ve watched you improve. Please don’t give up. You are blessed and have so much to live for. You can do this, ma’am. You are strong, smart, and need to keep fighting.” My mom looked at Funmi, squeezed her hand, smiled, and said, “You’re right, thank you.” It was beautiful. From that moment on a switch flipped and mom started fighting to get better.
I am confident Funmi’s words and compassionate care changed the trajectory of my mother’s recovery. I couldn’t be more grateful for Funmi taking that time with my mother. It made all the difference. And believe me, I saw how busy Funmi was and how many directions she was being pulled. She never wavered in her caretaking, not for a second, and did so always with a smile.
Thank you to Funmi from the bottom of my heart. What an outstanding nurse and human. Her compassion, knowledge, and efficiency are appreciated beyond measure. You all have a gem of a caretaker in Funmi. Please do everything you can to treasure her and make her feel valued, just as she does to the patients in her care.
