Without hesitation, Dillon recognized the emotional importance of this moment.
I would like to nominate Dillon for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion, respect, and humanity he demonstrated during a deeply emotional moment for one of our community’s officers.
Recently, two injured law enforcement officers arrived at our department. One of the officers did not survive their injuries. Without hesitation, Dillon recognized the emotional importance of this moment. He gently and respectfully wheeled the officer outside, ensuring he was safe, supported, and able to stand witness for his fallen friend.
Dillon embodied the very heart of nursing: honoring humanity, offering support in moments that matter, and caring for the whole person—not just the injury. His actions reflect the values of our profession and the mission of the DAISY Award. For his compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care, I am honored to nominate Dillon for the DAISY Award.
Dillon was taking care of a patient who wanted to be able to be a part of the honor walk. He helped clean the patient up, get him in a gown, and moved the patient's bed so he could watch. Dillon went the extra mile for the patient and helped him be a part of something important for the patient while also maintaining a high level of patient care
