While caring for her patient, she went above and beyond in a way that made a profound difference for the entire family. While her patient’s wife was out of town and understandably concerned, she took the time to speak with her by phone. She carefully explained his condition, the treatment plan, and the care being provided, ensuring his wife felt informed, reassured, and included despite the distance. She answered questions thoroughly and with patience, helping ease the anxiety that naturally comes with being away from a loved one during a medical event. In addition, she consistently communicated with the patients’ children, taking the time to explain treatment plans and provide updates in a clear, compassionate, and thoughtful manner. She ensured the family felt supported, respected, and confident in the care their father was receiving.
