I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to an outstanding nurse, Jacqueline Vanderstreet. Jackie identified an acute change in her patient, which caused her to swiftly initiate a Stroke Alert. Thanks to her excellent critical assessment skills, a new ischemic stroke was detected early. Because of her prompt recognition and action, the patient received TNK while still in the CT scanner, and within 30 minutes, the patient’s deficits had completely resolved. Jackie’s quick thinking and clinical expertise directly contributed to a life-changing outcome. The patient now has the opportunity to recover while preserving her mobility, thanks to her diligence. I'd like to state that this nurse consistently goes above and beyond not only for the patients she cares for but also for every member of her team. Earlier that morning, during a particularly challenging moment, Jackie did not hesitate to pause her report when she noticed I needed assistance with a rapid response. Her willingness to support a colleague in a critical moment is a testament to her team-first mindset. In every interaction I’ve had with her over the past few months, she has exemplified nothing but compassion, professionalism, and excellence.
