Leah is one of the most caring and compassionate nurses that I have ever encountered.
Leah was so kind to my 89-year-old mother while she was in the recovery area for the Cath procedure unit. Mom had a cath in the groin area, and it was giving my mother a great deal of pain. Leah stayed with my mom most of the day and called in backup to make sure they were doing everything they could for her. Mom actually had an internal bleed in the groin area that resulted in a 4-night hospital stay versus 1 planned night.
It was Leah’s birthday, and she even packaged Mom a slice of her birthday cake for later before Mom left the unit. Mom had been hungry and wasn’t allowed to eat for a time after the procedure, then the pain hit, and she was nauseous once her time to eat was approved. That slice of cake was the only food that my mom even wanted to eat for the next 2 days. Leah also visited Mom in CCU to check on her the next day. Leah went above and beyond to make sure that we, her family, were informed at all times, even when we were not allowed in the room. We knew she was in great hands with Leah being there. Leah is one of the most caring and compassionate nurses that I have ever encountered.
