I work in PAT and often interact with Milaka regarding our surgery patients; sometimes it might be multiple times a day. Milaka is always helpful, and most of the time she has the answer to my question, but if she does not, she helps me to find the answer and/or points me in the right direction.

Recently, I was a patient and the recipient of Milaka's compassion and care. I was scheduled for surgery, and before my surgery, there were some things requiring appointments at specific times on the same date with other departments and at other locations that needed to happen before I rolled into the OR.

I arrived at 7:30 am for the first needed appointment and I was not on their schedule, while the receptionist was calling my surgeon, I called Milaka. She was able to find the needed physician order in my medical record and fax it to the location where I was waiting.

Milaka is very knowledgeable about the many procedures performed in our OR department, and she knew exactly what was needed for my case to move forward. Thanks to her knowledge, swift action, and follow-through with multiple return calls to me to ensure the right document was faxed to the right location, I was able to complete the necessary procedure so my surgery was not delayed.

Milaka's job is behind the scenes, so most patients do not understand or know what she does. Her work is important in scheduling and completing surgeries. I am so thankful for how Milaka helped me personally when there was a problem, and I am also grateful to have her on our surgery team.
