Her deep respect for her patients is evident on a daily basis.
During shortages, this nurse has always stepped up to help anyone who needs it! Emily’s compassion, care, and bedside manner are incredible. My mom has been to four hospitals over 5 months, and Emily is the best of all the hospitals! I thank God that Emily cared for Mom as she did.

Emily has been a nurse for 7 years and works at Continuing Care Hospital, 3 South in Lexington, KY. I have known Emily from the beginning of her nursing journey, as she was assigned to complete her 120-hour practicum with me. I have seen Emily grow tremendously over the years and am grateful to have been a part of it.
Her deep respect for her patients is evident on a daily basis. She is observed going out of her way to spend a few extra minutes to ensure both the patient and the family are well informed and comfortable with the plan of care.
She is a great resource to our staff members, especially students and new nurses. She has a calm and comforting demeanor, which puts them at ease and improves their learning atmosphere.
Her compassion for nursing and the care she provides is outstanding, so much so that over the last 2 months alone, as the charge nurse, I have been approached by several of our patients' families that have had extended stays here at CCH requesting that Emily be assigned to care for their loved ones on each day that she is here.
She has received many cards and thank yous from patients and families thanking her for the wonderful care she gave them. If we had transferred them to our other unit, they would continue to call down to speak to her. It is very touching to see as it happens in real time.
Overall, Emily displays excellence in all that she does and in all her interactions. She is well-liked by her coworkers and well-respected by our physician staff, and has amazing customer service. Her devotion to the art of nursing exemplifies what we all strive to do on a daily basis.
