Nursing in the Mental Health field—especially within the Forensic Mental Health Program comes with its own unique pressures. On top of that, nurses often wear multiple hats to ensure quality care in a highly complex environment.

Pam consistently rises to the challenge, excelling particularly in her role as a patient advocate. She ensures that every patient is heard, even when others may overlook or dismiss their concerns. Pam is especially mindful that symptoms aren’t automatically attributed to mental illness but are also assessed through a medical lens.

That level of awareness and follow-through makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Pam has also been a leader and mentor to me, often without realizing it. Her humility, paired with her strength, makes her a quiet but powerful force on our team.

She never seeks recognition, often brushing off compliments, but her impact is undeniable. Pam embodies what it means to be a compassionate, dedicated nurse, and she truly deserves recognition with this DAISY Award.
