She did an outstanding job of personally connecting with me, anticipating my needs, and advocating for me when I needed it most.
In 2024, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and in the battle to preserve my life. I had to visit several specialty clinics for various procedures. After experiencing the patient care process at each of them. One nurse stood out above the rest: Annie Spidle. She was consistently there when I needed help or communication regarding my medical concerns and fears; she went above routine care. She listened, understood, and supported me during a deeply vulnerable time. When I worked in the funeral and cemetery industry, I used to remind my staff, "We do funerals every day, but the families we serve do not". In other words, what may seem routine for professionals is deeply personal and important for those going through the experience. The same is true in healthcare. When it involves your personal health, it really matters. Annie truly embodies that understanding. She did an outstanding job of personally connecting with me, anticipating my needs, and advocating for me when I needed it most. For these reasons, I proudly nominate Annie for the DAISY award.
