I would like to recognize the Rapid Response Nurse who supported me during a critical patient event for his advocacy and support of bedside nursing concerns. During this event, my patient developed severe respiratory distress and was later identified as being in shock.

From the moment Matt arrived, he took my concerns seriously and helped ensure they were not ignored, minimized, or dismissed. He listened, assessed the patient himself, and immediately recognized the severity of the situation. Rather than not allowing the patient's condition to be escalated, he advocated with providers for further evaluation and a higher level of care.

What stood out most was how he supported me as the bedside nurse. He validated my concerns regarding the patient's safety and condition and confidently communicated those concerns to providers, helping to ensure they were clearly understood. His advocacy gave me the reassurance that the patient was truly being seen and that my voice mattered in a high-stress situation.

Throughout the event, Matt remained calm and helped the team focus on what was best for the patient. Due to Matt's persistence, the patient received timely escalation of care that was critical to their outcome. I am incredibly grateful for his support, and he is a true asset to our team.
