Tanner took care of me when I had a horrible migraine and was so compassionate and helpful that he really made an impression on me. I had never had one before, and I could hardly walk or see, and he made me feel so much better and actually heard what I had to say. But it wasn’t until my grandmother was brought in for a fall and started with hospital delirium, which is common for her with her Parkinson’s and early dementia. But the hospitalist wanted to keep her for observation because of her change in mental status and the UTI they found. I explained to the Doc that this was not in her best interest, that we can treat this at her assisted living, and the delirium would be much shorter. The hospitalist said that he could possibly do that, but she really needed to see therapy before she could go. I explained everything to Tanner when he came back in, and he advocated and got therapy there, and we were able to get her home in a good amount of time, and she really benefited from a shorter hospital stay. He even stayed past his shift to help us get what we needed so we could be discharged! He went above and beyond for my family and me, and I am forever grateful!
