Jamie stayed by my side and helped me through the moment my mom passed away.
When I first met Jamie, she was my mom’s day nurse after a major procedure. From the moment she welcomed my husband and me, she had a smile that instantly made us feel comfortable. She greeted us warmly, introduced herself, and showed such sweetness and compassion toward my mom — even though my mom couldn’t speak due to the tube.

Jamie always explained what she was doing, kept us informed about how my mom was doing — whether the news was good or difficult — and delivered every message with such care and gentleness. Her kindness meant more than I can express. I truly didn’t want her shift to end, but I knew it had to.

The next day, having Jamie again was such a comfort. She was just as amazing — sweet, attentive, and incredibly kind. When she was reassigned, and we had a different nurse, I felt the absence deeply.

I specifically asked if Jamie could be there on my mom’s last day to help me through the incredibly difficult process of losing her. Once again, she showed extraordinary compassion — not just toward my mom, but toward me as well. When the breathing tube was removed, we were told it could be anywhere from two hours to two weeks. Sadly, it was just two hours. Jamie stayed by my side and helped me through the moment my mom passed away.

She patiently answered all of my questions and explained how they would care for my mom afterward. During the most painful experience of my life, Jamie was steady, gentle, and deeply compassionate.

Jamie is the kind of nurse who could train ICU nurses in what truly matters: skill, helpfulness, compassion, and the importance of a reassuring smile for family members during unimaginable moments. She is exceptionally skilled, caring, and provided extraordinary compassionate care for my mom.

I will always be grateful for Jamie.

Kudos to Jamie and the other ICU nurses who sadly have their patients pass away.
