The School of Nursing faculty and staff surprised Joy Wilcox during class on April 29, 2026, and presented her with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators.

Joy’s nominators had this to say about her:

“Joy has pushed me, encouraged me, and given me a safe space for me to learn and grow; I have never felt more seen or cared about by an instructor; Joy is the most passionate, intelligent, and hardworking nurse I know, and she made every clinical day worth it.”
