Being born with a rare congenital bone disorder, I have spent the better half of my life in and out of the hospital setting, including numerous hospital stays for various surgical procedures and a previous childbirth. Despite that, I have never been met with more compassion from a staff member than I had with Laura during my stay at L&D to deliver my son, and then again when I was readmitted for preeclampsia.

I felt a genuine sense of safety any time she was in my room or caring for me. I felt zero judgment and was absolutely the most comfortable with her. Not only was she personable, kind, gentle, and compassionate, but she was on top of every single thing. She was more than happy to help with anything I needed and made sure I was informed throughout the entire process.

I did not even have to worry about setting anything up in the midst of the chaos since she made sure to take care of it prior to discharge. Although I know for her own wellbeing it would’ve never been possible, I would have given just about anything to have had the privilege of having her be with me every minute of my stay. I find that it is not often you find genuine, kind, caring people in this world. I, however, am and will always forever be thankful to have experienced that kind of person with Laura during one of life’s most vulnerable times.

She truly is an extraordinary nurse to be in labor and delivery. I have no doubt in my mind that every person who has been and will be in her care will receive nothing short of the absolute best. Though I thanked her many times, I genuinely felt as though she deserves more recognition than a verbal ‘thank you’.

Laura, again, thank you, and thank you for leaving me with a lifelong lasting impact, you’re incredible!
