During one of our most difficult times, Ashlee was a bright light of compassion and kindness. Ashlee was our nurse during the last stages of our son’s delivery, which occurred at only 20 weeks and left mom in tremendous physical and emotional pain. Throughout this time, Ashlee was incredible. She was a complete professional, handling mom’s needs, making her feel comfortable and dignified. She coordinated with other nurses to make sure all of Mom’s physical needs were met.

Even more impactful was Ashlee’s gentle and bright demeanor. She was an overconfident guide when we were totally lost in uncertainty and fear, when mom said, “I don’t know if I can do this”. Every time, Ashlee responded in the sweetest, most reassuring way: “Sweet girl, yes, you can.” Her tone was what mom needed to hear, to feel loved and secure enough to continue.

After delivery, knowing we would only have a few minutes with our son, Ashlee worked with the doctor to quickly put our son on mom’s chest to give us as much time as possible with our tiny newborn. We will always remember Ashlee’s voice…her “sweet girl”. In a time of intense pain, fever, confusion, and heartbreak, Ashlee’s skills, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel loved and protected. Ashlee, sweet girl, thank you.
