MJ consistently goes above and beyond, not just for his patients and their families but also for his co-workers. He often does things to help other nurses before I even ask, and he does them with a smile on his face.

MJ recently had a young patient experiencing the worst day of her life, and she was rightfully extremely scared. He quickly built a rapport with the patient to help put her at ease and advocated for her safety, privacy, to have her mom present for as much as she was allowed, and to be fully educated on the next steps in the process.

MJ stepped in to provide accurate information regarding a SANE exam and let her know she was in control of the entire process, and led her step-by-step through what was included. When the officer attempted to block his ability to care for the patient, MJ immediately notified the charge nurse to assist in facilitating the patient's right to receive care.
