She explained procedures clearly, answered questions patiently, and ensured my sister understood her options.
I would like to nominate Nurse Lydia for the DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion, advocacy, and kindness she showed during my sister’s labor and delivery experience. From the moment she walked into the room, she made my sister feel seen, heard, and safe. Labor can be an overwhelming and vulnerable time, but she brought a calm presence that immediately eased anxiety. She didn’t just provide medical care; she provided emotional support, reassurance, and a genuine human connection. What stood out the most was her unwavering advocacy. She took the time to truly listen to my sister’s concerns and wishes, making sure her voice was heard during every decision. She explained procedures clearly, answered questions patiently, and ensured my sister understood her options. When things felt uncertain or intense, she stepped in with confidence and compassion, advocating for what was best while honoring my sister’s birth experience. Her kindness never wavered.

Whether it was offering encouraging words during difficult contractions or adjusting pillows for comfort, she made a lasting impact on our entire family. She treated my sister not as a patient in a room, but as a person deserving of dignity, respect, and exceptional care. Because of Nurse Lydia, my sister’s labor and delivery experience, though challenging, was filled with support, strength, and compassion. We will never forget the difference she made during one of the most important moments of our lives. She truly deserves the DAISY Award.
