We are deeply honored to recognize Mark for the profound impact he has had on the 6N/6S units during a time of significant instability and change.
When Mark stepped into leadership, the units were experiencing turbulence that had taken an emotional toll on staff. Rather than leading from a distance, Mark showed up with empathy, consistency, and purpose. He became the steady presence our teams desperately needed — the glue that brought fragmented leadership and staff back together.
Through intentional team building, he fostered a culture of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.
One of Mark’s strongest leadership competencies is his transparency and communication. When staff raise concerns, he listens without defensiveness, responds honestly, and—most importantly—follows through. He consistently loops back with staff, ensuring they feel heard and valued. This accountability has rebuilt trust and created psychological safety within the unit.
Mark is also a fierce advocate for his team. He supports his staff during difficult conversations, stands up for safe practice, and makes decisions rooted in compassion and patient-centered care. His leadership reassures staff that they are not alone and that their well-being matters.
