I am honored to nominate Kandice for the DAISY Award at Southwell Health and Rehab.
As her Nursing Supervisor, I have the privilege of seeing firsthand the consistency, strength, and compassion she brings to our short-term rehab floor every single day. While there may not be one singular event that defines her excellence, it is her unwavering commitment to every resident, every shift, that truly sets her apart.
Kandice is the epitome of what a nurse should be. She possesses a very strong personality — one that commands respect, advocates fiercely for her residents, and ensures that standards of care are not just met but exceeded. Her strength is beautifully balanced by compassion. She treats each resident with dignity and patience, understanding that many are navigating vulnerable, uncertain times in their recovery. She does not simply complete tasks; she connects, reassures, educates, and uplifts.
Our short-term rehab residents often require as much encouragement as clinical skill, and Kandice consistently provides both.
